Vandalia Rebekah Lodge #9 was instituted on December 21, 2024. It brough a unit of the Rebekah branch back to Charleston after a long hiatus since the closure of the orginial Kanawha Rebekah Lodge #9. Once a branch that served female members of the Odd Fellows at time when only males were allowed in the regular Odd Fellow lodge, both branches have been open to both for decades. So why keep both when the separation of genders is over, you might ask. The answer is simple: purpose.

The Rebekah branch has its own ritual and degree work which is distince from that in the Odd Fellows lodge or the other branches. The key teaching of FIDELITY is illustrated through numerous female biblical figures in the Rebekah Degree. The Rebekah Lodge has also played a key role in supporting the mission of Odd Fellowship and adds richness to the tapestry that is the complete Odd Fellows experience. Rebekah membership is also a requirement for the elective officers of the Grand Lodge and for representatives and officers of the Sovereign Grand Lodge.

Vandalia Rebekah Lodge #9 meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 8:30 pm. The first meeting of the month is a joint social meeting with Kanawha Lodge #25 and the second meeting of the month is for Rebekah members only.
