Mike grew up in Bucks County in suburban Philadelphia attending Neshaminy High School and becoming an Eagle Scout. He graduated in 1995 with a B.S. in Psychology and membership in Psi Chi National Honor Society. Working first in the counseling field and then in education, he found his way to the DC area where he learned Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software which was an emerging technology at that time. Working in that field in the private sector for 14 years, Mike took on the building of a GIS department for a state agency in West Virginia where he continues to serve as a manager.
Mike married his lovely wife Julie in 2001 with whom he has traveled extensively throughout the world. They have two wonderful children together who have joined in on the travels. Mike is also active in various organizations, serving various roles in his church, local community organizations, and has taken on leadership roles in most of them. He is a writer with several books published in both fiction and non-fiction.
Mike joined the Odd Fellows in January 2006 in Port Matilda Lodge #733. Not long after he became a member of the Encampment branch, then the Patriarchs Militant, and finally the Rebekahs. He has served as the presiding officer of all four branches at the local level, has been a Department Commander, Grand Secretary, Bugler General, Military Advisor, Aide to the Commander-in-Chief and Sovereign Grand Chaplain. Mike is current a member of Kanawha Lodge #25, Port Matilda Lodge #733, Ellinipsico Encampment #13, Canton Charleston #7, and Vandalia Rebekah Lodge #9.
